Our History..
So who’s behind this?
In 2006, Melissa Maker left her corporate job as a banker to start a business. What kind of business, she was unsure. At the age of 24, Melissa knew that hard work would be required to get any business off the ground, regardless of what industry she chose. With no understanding of cleaning, Melissa kept getting the same message everywhere she turned; cleaning was the business to be in. After plenty of research and practice, she started cleaning and launched Clean My Space as a boutique-style service catering to the condo market in the GTA. Melissa had exactly one person working with her at the time and did the cleaning herself to get things going for the first couple of years. The company was but a planted seed. She waitressed during the evenings and cleaned and built CMS during the day.
As the years went on, Clean My Space was able to grow exponentially and hire on even more staff. CMS grew through a variety of media opportunities, trade shows, word of mouth referrals and internet-generated business. Condos were a terrific entry point into the cleaning industry but CMS quickly became a very in-demand service where homeowners, real estate agents, developers, property managers, personal concierges and offices. Hence, Clean My Space decided to open up services to all interested clients and have since migrated from Toronto’s Original Condo Cleaners to offering services to anyone looking for our unique brand of cleaning.
Many times, we get calls and emails regarding a stain, a cleaning conundrum, or a product recommendation. We are so glad and honoured to receive these calls. Consumers, clients, and the media have clearly recognized Clean My Space as true cleaning experts. We are pleased to answer any cleaning questions that you may have!
We have strengthened our training program and standards, and bring an ever-evolving and continual improvement attitude into all of our work. We listen to our clients; we are never too proud to take feedback and incorporate it into our operations. In 2010, the business moved into its second office in Richmond Hill, Ontario after outgrowing its first. Clean My Space plans to move across the country spreading its cleaning joy to every province and territory.
